  • Introduction

    Course Objectives and Goals

    The Advertising & Media Course at Hanyang Cyber University was established with an objective to nurture ingenuous and proactive advertising and media experts who are equipped with the wide theoretical and practical skills ideal for the knowledge-based economy of the 21st century.

    Course Characteristics

    The Advertising & Media Course teaches the students the relevant theory including communication, marketing, advertising, journalism, psychology and design. It also provides education in specialized knowledge of advertising campaign planning, promotion plans, event planning, advertising media and advertisement research and in the field of media.

    As a result, the students are receiving awards in many open exhibitions such as advertising contests while at the University, and obtain various certificates such as those in outdoor management and event producing. After graduation many of them are distinguishing themselves in broadcasting, journalism, visual media and communication. Other graduates are continuing their career as graduate students at prominent universities including Korea, Yonsei, Hanyang, Sungkyunkwan, Sogang, Hongik and Dankook Universities.

    Careers after Graduation

    The knowledge-based economic society of the 21st century requires a greater number of ingenuous and proactive advertising and media experts who are equipped with the wide theoretical and practical skills. Hence the Course shall offer a wide range of promising careers, some of which are listed below.

    • Areas in planning, production, media, research and events at advertising, promotion and research companies
    • Creative directors at ad-makers
    • Advertising, promotion and marketing departments at enterprises and the press
    • Advertising and promotion sectors in political parties, consumer and nonprofit organizations
    • Freelance advertisers or promotion strategists
    • Venture business owners in advertising, creative boutique, outdoor advertising, etc.
    • Further studies at graduate schools at home and abroad
    • Hands-on officers in media management
    • Media contents planners
    • Media contents developers and producers
