  • Introduction

    Introduction

    All economic entities, including individuals, businesses and public institutions, raise funds through the financial market for various purposes, manage these funds, and administer these management processes. Financial management, in a narrow sense, is known as “business finance.” This management process deals with the firm’s decisions to raise funds, distribution policies and investment decisions. In a broad sense, financial management includes theories in investment, financial institutions, financial derivatives and international finance, and principles of insurance studies. In addition, accounting information is the common language used in understanding business administration as well as corporate activities between participants in the financial market. Accounting is classified into financial accounting and management accounting, depending on whether the interested parties who require the corporate information in various ways, such as investors, creditors and managers, are inside or outside the firm.

    Educational purposes

    1. As a field of social sciences, business administration is a study of rational operation and strategic management of firms.
      Hence, the Department of Business Administration’s first goal is to enhance the capability for individuals and enterprises to make rational management decisions in relation to their economic activities.
    2. The course focuses on cultivating future expert managers by teaching the students theoretical and expert knowledge on financing, operation, regulations and management of managers.
    3. The course also aims to train the students as creative and truthful managers who can actively cope with the rapidly changing business environment and information-oriented society and contribute to the national society.
