The department seeks to train competent human resources with a comprehensive understanding of future society, and aims to cultivate experts in the future senior business industry by allowing students to acquire the necessary practical skills and knowledge about relevant information in areas such as demographic statistics, economy, industry, and finance.
Educational Objective
Hanyang Cyber University's Department of Senior Business was established with the purpose of nurturing professionals who will lead various areas including health and nursing, entrepreneurship and consulting, and leisure and education in preparation for megatrend of the 21st century such as a low birthrate and aged society. In Korea, there has been an urgent call to cultivate silver industry professionals especially with the enforcement of the Age-Friendly Industry Promotion Act (2006) and the Elderly Long-Term Care Insurance Act (2007). Thus, the Department of Senior Business endeavors to provide educational opportunities for students to acquire knowledge about various interdisciplinary theories and gain practical skills in areas such as demographics, economy, and industry. This is done to cultivate competent human resources who can contribute to the well-being of an increasing number of semi-retired and retired members of society in their 50s, while helping to create products and services suitable for the elderly, as well as opportunities for entrepreneurship and consulting, and business creation.
