About the Department of Shared Value Platforms

The Department of Shared Value Platforms offers a realization of value sharing, the first key keyword of shared value. People create numerous social values through countless experiences and the convergence of knowledge but it is not easy to share and divide these with others. In modern society, the sharing of knowledge and experiences materializes economic value as a new industry. The Department of Shared Value Platforms will help students realize self-value by allowing them to share their own educational knowledge and social experiences with members of society.

Second, the Department of Shared Value Platforms is a department newly established to educationally unravel various ‘solutions to social and economic problems’.
We have a number of problems, from simple garbage use to environmental pollution, from methods to easily memorize words to English presentations, and from small knowledge problems to macroscopic problems in society or of nations. Solutions to these problems can be found through responses to large-scale national finances, but they can also be found through individual small social movements and efforts. The Department of Shared Value Platforms will provide a new approach to solving social problems through education in which people can share their own knowledge and experiences.

This will lead to shared growth with the triple benefits of social problem solutions + student competency improvements + diversification of school education, which are the second core keywords of this major.

What is CSV (Create Shared Value)?

“Create Shared Value (CSV) was suggested by Michael Potter (Harvard University) through the Harvard Business Review and its original significance aims for society and companies to develop and grow together through companies achieving business profits by providing CSV products or CSV services to solve various social and economic problems (global warming, the revitalization of traditional markets, etc.).

Creating shared values in terms of education is a concept that leads to the development and growth of student competencies through the direct completion of ‘educational contents’ through ‘curriculums of shared value creation’ implemented to solve social and economic problems.”

Educational goals

The Department of Shared Value Platforms at Hanyang Cyber University aims to cultivate convergent creators who create new values in society by allowing students to share their social experiences (social values) and educational experiences with society and through this, expanding their knowledge and applying them practically. The specific curriculum is a combination of a humanities curriculum, law/institutional curriculum, and content production techniques curriculum to foster creators who can realize their values in society through video contents and platforms. In addition, the educational cultivation process of the Department of Shared Value Platforms aims for a virtuous circulating educational system of mutual growth among teachers and students (역주: 교학상장(敎學相長)) so that students are not simply passive consumers of knowledge, but creative people of intelligence who can combine knowledge creation and experience.

It signifies ‘mutual growth among teachers and students through teaching processes’ and through this process, people can learn once through education and twice through the creation of educational contents that one teaches themselves.

Department specialization

HY-PBL(Hanyang Cyber - Problem-Based Learning)

HY-PBL is an educational model designed to help learners solve problems.
It is based on the IC-PBL (Industry-Coupled Problem-Based Learning) model conducted at Hanyang University and it is not only a model in which learners gain the ability to solve real problems through connections among ‘Industry, Society, and University’, but it is also an educational model designed for cyber education to allow learners to have problem solving capabilities for the realization of shared value and social responsibility.
This department operates a shared value creation curriculum with 7 out of a total of 12 subjects (3 Semi-PBL subjects, 3 PBL subjects by area, and 1 final PBL subject).

HY-CDP(Hanyang Cyber – Career Development Program)

HY-CDP is an ‘individual student work experience program’ that helps students majoring in shared value platforms understand the concept of shared value and to turn those meanings into contents to create results. Diagnoses, evaluations, and counseling will be provided to improve student value according to the HY-CDP process of each stage.

			Artist temperament(Craftsman : Values realistic values but is not bound by institutions and classes (Art type(A) / Business type(E), Freedom, Spontaneity, Movie directors, Stylists, Designers, etc.),
			Rationalist temperament : Performance-oriented, logical/analytic/objective, and driven. (Inquiring type(I), Competence-oriented, High levels of confidence, Politicians, Diplomats, Doctors, University professors)

HY-CUBE Platform

HY-CUBE Platform refers to a platform that mounts content created through a shared value platform department curriculum, and the mounted content is learned twice as other students learn through a teaching process. In addition, social problems are solved and mutual growth among teachers and students and the creation of shared values (CSV) are realized through the accumulation of various contents that embrace the meaning of shared value.

HY-Navigation

HY-Navigation is an educational model for the Department of Shared Value Platforms at Hanyang Cyber University developed by the Cyber University Competency Support Project of the Ministry of Education and it is a unique educational model developed based on the OECD LEARNING COMPASS 2030 model.
HYCU Navigation captures the image of students at Hanyang Cyber University realizing social values by combining attitudes, knowledge, and skills in the form of a compass that provides standards for the voluntary adult journey of learners.
This model will be the most important foundation for introducing standards for future educational design, competency design, and subject design. The realization of values through the integration of attitudes, knowledge, and technology will be linked to the top 10 competency curriculums of Hanyang Cyber University for digital literacy through creativity, cooperation, and communication. Through this process, students will not simply be compasses that pursue only their own values, but they will be able to recognize and develop their roles as true intellectuals who pursue shared values that are shared and grow together with society.
