Developing Expertise to Manage in People, Processes, and Policies in the Global Context
Fostering global leaders with the competencies needed in management across national and cultural boundaries, students of the department will cultivate the necessary skills to lead internationalization and globalization efforts of their companies.
The 4th Industrial Revolution demands a new level of global competitiveness regardless of the size of the company. Non-programmable, soft technology capabilities, such as effective communication skills of managers who have a global perspective, the ability to manage multinational talent and global customers, and the competence to handle legal and technical changes, as well as professional work skills, have become important advantages for managers and their organizations. The Department of Global Management offers a variety of professional, soft technology management courses designed to cultivate global leaders needed for the 4th Industrial Revolution. Specific training courses include HR Management, Strategic Management and International Trade.
As the global market is becoming more rapidly integrated, the demand for competent leaders who can effectively compete on the global stage is increasing. To address this demand, the department is devoted to cultivating experts equipped with practical managerial skills, by employing a curriculum that is divided into three areas: International Business Administration, Financial Management, and Global Human Resource Management.
In the department, active faculty members work diligently to assist students by providing guidance on developing a career plan after graduation that meets the needs of the students. Such guidance can be seen in the form of support for earning certificates and admission to graduate school at home or abroad, through extra classes or seminars designed to broaden stduents’ perspectives.
The curriculum of the Department of Global Management is organized into three general stages according to the difficulty of each major and the degree of convergence with practical work. They are the Basic Stage, Core Stage, and Advanced Stage. In addition, the curriculum consists of required and elective courses that are designed to provide students with a well-rounded education. This enables students to develop a macroscopic view of the industry and their ability to use and apply knowledge they gain. Along with the solid, professional courses, knowledgeable faculty are working to help students to reach their potentials as future global experts and leaders.
