The Department of Design integrated the Department of Digital Design and the Department of Spatial Design, which were opened in 2002 and 2003, and reorganized into the Department of Design since 2011, establishing the educational goal of becoming 'a cradle of creating new design values through retraining.' In addition, as a practical strategy to achieve this, we have established the direction of 'concept-oriented education, interdisciplinary education, and high-quality high-end design education.'

Hello, I’m Hyun-Joo Park and I entered the Division of Design at Hanyang Cyber University in 2008. To me, Hanyang Cyber University is a really meaningful and precious place. At the time of my admission, I was a little nervous but then I remembered I heard HYCU has a better mentoring system than other cyber universities. So I finished my first semester with a mentor and didn’t have any problems. There are many opportunities for you to learn face to face through offline practice, special lectures, drawing clubs, and photo-taking clubs, so you can meet others and not feel like you are studying alone. I studied hard for three years without a break in order to graduate early, which I did in February 2011. I then transferred to Hongik University and I’m going to be a senior. When I look back at my 3 years at Hanyang Cyber University, I feel proud because I gained a lot of valuable experiences.

Graduate in 2013

2009. 02 Entered Department of Digital Design, Hanyang Cyber University
2013. 02 Graduated, Department of Digital Design, Hanyang Cyber University
2017. 03 Entered Design Planning, Graduate School, Hanyang Cyber University
My name is Soo-Min Lim and I started at HYCU’s Division of Design in 2009 at the late age of 33. My biggest reason for choosing Hanyang Cyber University was because of the special lectures offline by professors. Although it is a cyber university, there are a lot of practice and communication opportunities between students and professors at the many offline special lectures and undergraduate events. Since there are many juniors and seniors who are active in the field, I was able to get a lot of help by forming personal connections. More than anything else, the graduation exhibition, which is the culmination of four years of studying, was a great experience. HYCU is a school where you gain as much as you actively give, through participation. Wanting to take another step toward learning more, I entered the Design Planning Graduate School of Hanyang Cyber University in 2017. I am thankful to all the professors of the Division of Design for helping me to continue to develop.

Graduate in 2007

2003. 02 Entered Department of Space Design, Hanyang Cyber University
2007. 02 Graduated, Department of Space Design, Hanyang Cyber University
Currently, I am running an atelier office called Kima Partners, which embraces the entire field of architecture and interior architecture and is specialized in design. Hanyang Cyber University was a new opportunity and challenge for me at a time when I was in desperate need of a career because I couldn't go to college after completing my military duty during economic crisis in the late 1990s. I am currently designing with the concept of space without distinguishing between the areas of architectural design and interior architectural design. I developed this approach as a result of being influenced by my professors, so I understand architecture as a whole and the comprehensive concept of space, which I can explain to my clients. My education at HYCU helped me to create my own world of architecture. In addition, the teaching method of Hanyang Cyber University, which is strengthened by offline activities, can help bring about new ideas of those who are determined to succeed. HYCU is a great place for anyone who wants to study. It is also a place to meet a variety of people to network with or befriend. Considering the development potential of the Division of Design at Hanyang Cyber University, I believe it is an ideal school for those who dream of becoming design leaders

Graduate in 2015

2003. 02 Entered Department of Space Design, Hanyang Cyber University
2007. 02 Graduated, Department of Space Design, Hanyang Cyber University
“A picture drawn on the canvas of mind will become reality someday” HYCU is where you can make your dreams come true! My name is HyoYeon Shin and I entered the Division of Design in 2011. My major is Design Planning. At the moment, I am in charge of teaching brand package design, wrapping design to freelancers, and practical training for companies, all while I am a studying in graduate school. While studying distribution, I acquired a variety of knowledge about management, marketing, and logistics, but above all, I felt I learned the most from the area of design. When choosing a school to attend, I found that the Division of Design at had a unique, high-level curriculum with impressive faculty, and programs to produce creative designers. Thus, I was excited at the thought of learning about the design field more systematically. Also, at HYCU, you pay much less than offline university but still learn a lot. I was pleasantly surprised about this. I still recall the first time I attended an offline special lecture; it was enjoyable and the several hours seemed to have passed too quickly! The enthusiasm of the professors were great and I have a lot of respect for them.
