Hanyang Cyber University’s Division of Sfumato(AI Convergence Liberal Arts Major) is designed as an AI-based interdisciplinary major, providing expertise to respond to various social demands and technological challenges through detailed tracks in AI Security, AI Design, and AI Silver Care.
Introduction to the Division of Sfumato(AI Convergence Liberal Arts Major)
"Sfumato" is an artistic technique that expresses colors softly without distinguishing the boundaries between them, used by Renaissance masters like Leonardo da Vinci.
The new Hanyang Cyber University’s Division of Sfumato(AI Convergence Liberal Arts Major) borrowed its name from the "sfumato" art technique, because the curriculum was designed to allow students
to freely explore their majors and future career paths according to their interests and aptitudes without boundaries between departments. It is an interdisciplinary program based on AI integration.
The Division of Sfumato(AI Convergence Liberal Arts Major) does not require students to choose a specific major in advance. Instead, during their first year, students complete a major exploration seminar and foundational courses,
and then in the second year, they select one of the three interdisciplinary tracks that best suits their aptitude as their primary major (AI Security, AI Design, or AI Silver Care).
At the same time, students are required to complete a double major in either a general department or another interdisciplinary major.
Through the specific tracks of AI security, AI Design Engineering, and AI Silver Care, HYCU's Division of Sfumato(AI Convergence Liberal Arts Major) provides students with the expertise needed to respond to various social needs and technological challenges.
Through these specialized tracks, the Division of Sfumato(AI Convergence Liberal Arts Major) helps students address technological challenges while satisfying social values by allowing them to integrate into their education, various academic fields based on AI technology.
Meanwhile, the faculty of the division aims to provide the best support to help students gain opportunities to excel on the global stage through their own expertise and differentiation.
